If you're 70½ or older, you may be able to make a gift directly from your IRA to Hugs For Harry through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).
It's a simple way to use funds from your IRA to provide veterinary care, medications, food, shelter and a safe place for dogs who need us.
What Is a Qualified Charitable Distribution?
A Qualified Charitable Distribution allows eligible IRA owners to make a charitable gift directly from their IRA to a qualified nonprofit such as Hugs For Harry.
When the requirements are met, the amount transferred directly to the charity generally isn't included in your taxable income.
If you are required to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), a qualifying gift from your IRA may also count toward all or part of your RMD for the year.
How to Make a Gift From Your IRA
Contact your IRA custodian or financial advisor and tell them you would like to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution to Hugs For Harry, Inc.
