Our Lovely Floyd
Meet Floyd: A Hug from Hugs For Harry
When we first rescued Floyd from the Stockton Shelter, he was a shy whisper of a dog—a terrified shadow in a very loud place. He was so scared when he arrived at Hugs Haven that he was a ten-pound blur of pure terror, running low and fast. He didn’t trust us and he didn’t know what a gentle hand was. But here's the beautiful, heartbreaking truth about love: it starts to build a bridge. We waited. We sat with him. And little by little, he started to watch us, and then he started to trust.
Now, this little guy is a spunky, three-year-old fireball of life. Once you've earned his trust, he melts. He loves to be held and stroked , to be curled up in your lap, his little head resting in the crook of your arm. It's a sacred thing, this gift of trust he gives you—a sign that he knows what it's like to be truly seen and truly loved. At just 10 lbs, he’s a loyal companion for life, a friend who will be there through thick and thin. He's looking for a family that will shower him with all the love he deserves, a home where he can be the only dog. He’s the kind of dog that will teach you about patience, about trust, about how something so broken can become so whole again.
