Meet Connie — A Tiny Dog with a Big Comeback Story

At just 8 pounds, Connie may be small, but she has the soul of a heavyweight champion. She’s a 5-year-old ginger-blond Chihuahua with big eyes, a determined little trot (with the help of her snazzy custom wheelchair), and a heart that somehow stayed wide open even after everything she’s been through.

Connie’s story didn’t start out sweet. She was found abandoned, heartworm positive, her back legs trailing behind her like they’d given up. She landed in a local shelter with more medical needs than most places could handle — and just like that, she was put on the euthanasia list.

But then — cue the rescue music — Hugs for Harry stepped in, scooped her up, and promised her a better chapter.

Now? She’s safe. She’s healing. She’s working her way through heartworm treatment with the kind of grace and grit you wish you could bottle. Her legs are even starting to regain some movement, and with her wheelchair, she’s been zooming around like a tiny beach chariot racer. Watching her discover joy again is like watching a miracle that fits in your lap.

And speaking of laps — that’s her happy place. Connie is the coziest little cuddlebug you’ll ever meet. She wants to be near her person, in their arms, on their lap, wrapped in a blanket burrito. She's a stage-five clinger in the best way. She's sensitive, soulful, and she knows when you're having a rough day — and she'll press her warm little body into yours like she's trying to say, "Me too. Let’s rest together."

She’s not a fan of chaos — loud noises, rowdy dogs, too much movement — it’s just not her jam. Connie is a one-dog kind of gal. She wants to be your ride-or-die, your shadow, your late-night snuggle partner. She’s not interested in sharing the spotlight — and honestly, after what she’s survived, who can blame her!

🐾 We’re Looking for Two Very Special People:

1. A Foster Parent:
Connie needs a calm, quiet space to finish her heartworm treatment. If you’ve got a peaceful home and a soft spot for a pup with a fierce heart and wobbly legs, she’ll repay you in love, loyalty, and the kind of gratitude that brings tears to your eyes.

2. A Sponsor Angel:
We’re also hoping for someone who can sponsor Connie for a year — covering the costs of her medical care, therapy, and her special mobility equipment. Your kindness will give this little dog everything she needs to keep chasing the sun.
