Meet: Butterball 🧈

Butterball came to us after being rescued from a heartbreaking situation. She was confiscated by police from backyard breeders in Contra Costa, where she and other dogs, including her Frenchie friends, were treated poorly and neglected. When we met her at the Dublin shelter, it was clear she had been through a lot—but even clearer was the quiet, gentle love she still carried in her heart.

Despite everything, Butterball is one of the sweetest, most affectionate souls we’ve ever met. She doesn’t demand attention—she softly asks for it with a nuzzle or a hopeful glance. She finds comfort in being close, happily curling up beside you or resting her head on your lap. There’s something incredibly calming about her presence, like she knows she’s safe now and wants you to feel that, too.

What Butterball wants most is a soft place to land and someone to love her back as deeply as she’s ready to love. She’s a medium-sized cuddlebug with a big heart and a quiet strength that comes from surviving the hard stuff. If you have a gentle home and a heart open to healing love, Butterball will be your loyal, loving companion—always by your side.
